Welcome to Boarding

At the Treetops Boarding House, Braeburn Garden Estate provides the option of warm and welcoming weekly or full-time boarding facilities for students in Years 7 to 13, where we offer varying accommodation to suit the different ages of our pupils. Our primary objective is to create a closely-knit and inclusive community, where every child feels safe, supported and cared-for throughout every moment of the academic year. Our well-trained staff and carefully constructed boarding routines ensure there is always time to provide each student with the highest level of pastoral care and academic oversight, providing the most purposeful, holistic education possible. At Braeburn Garden Estate, we always aim to develop the person, not just the pupil.

Enrichment Programme

Enrichment provides a wide range of opportunities and experiences for our pupils, which are not only fun, but productive and vital in the development of both academic and interpersonal skills.

The extensive sporting facilities on our campus are available for all boarders, with structured evening activities organised to encourage their use. Social clubs, art and music facilities, an occasional evening trip, and boarding-wide gatherings enhance the sense of community, enriching those within it.

At weekends, all full-time boarders experience an exciting programme of off-site excursions and residential trips. Every activity is geared to be engaging, interesting and enriching, and they cater to each individual.

Braeburn Garden Estate boarding staff are careful to achieve a balance between the academic and social aspects of boarding. Students are expected to study in a supervised setting each weekday evening, with teaching staff on hand to provide academic support when required.

Pastoral Care

Our boarding provision is underpinned by a strong pastoral support system. Although students are free to approach any member of boarding staff, at any time, if they have a pressing worry or problem, a proactive approach is taken to monitor each pupil’s wellbeing, happiness and overall progress. Tutor groups are effectively used to discuss and track recent achievements or issues, and these meetings provide opportunities to help prepare students for the busy week ahead.

All staff at Braeburn Garden Estate are fully trained using CPOMS (Child Protection Online Management System), which helps ensure complete oversight of each child’s welfare.

Our Boarding House

Treetops boasts world-class boarding facilities, providing an inspiring environment in which to live. There is a vast array of in-house spaces in which pupils can reap the benefits of communal living, and our fantastic outdoor facilities ensure there is a diverse and exciting activities programme available enabling each student to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Testimonials

Carnell, IB2. Baobab House Captain

‘After five incredible years in the boarding house, it is hard to put into words just how much this place has shaped me. From late evening laughs in the common room to early morning prep sessions, every moment has been part of an unforgettable journey. I have made lifelong friendships – the kind that only form when you live, study, and grow together. Boarding taught me independence, responsibility, and how to balance work and fun. I am grateful for the constant support from  the staff who were always there when we needed them.’

Clara, IB1. Acacia House Council Member

‘Boarding has been a life-changing experience for me. When I first arrived, everything was new: a different country, language, school… and I was scared to be far away from my family for the first time. However, I quickly found a second family among my friends and teachers. Boarding at Braeburn Garden Estate has shaped me into a more confident person, and I am grateful for the friendships and personal growth it brought into my life. It is an experience I would recommend for everyone.’
