DT Work

6th February 2023

This term, Year 3E have been designing and making slingshot cars in DT. This is what we needed:

Materials:

  • Wooden dowels
  • Bottle caps.
  • Drinking straws
  • Paperclips
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Elastic bands
  • Masking tape
  • Glue guns

Method:

  • First we designed the chassis.
  • Next we made it by assembling the above materials.
  • Then we made sure that everything was securely attached using hot glue.
  • Finally we tested our slingshot cars by launching them to see how far they would go.

Comments by some of 3E pupils:

Arben- I enjoyed using the glue gun to fix my slingshot car and playing smash with Denzel.

Sofia- Racing together and sticking the lollipop sticks together was a lot of fun.

Liam- I enjoyed using a glue gun.

Ellenah- I loved how we made the slingshot cars.

Kuot- It was fun putting the sticks together.

Athena- I enjoyed racing and seeing which slingshot car would go the furthest.

We had a lot of fun as seen in the pictures below.
