IAPS Kenya Swimming Championships

21st March 2022

The IAPS Kenya Swimming Championship was held on the 19th March 2022. Twenty eight swimmers represented BGE at the galas hosted by Brookhouse School for under 9 swimmers, The Banda School for under 11 swimmers and Kenton College for under 13 Swimmers. Well done to;

Zara, Paula, Renee, Mariella, Khalil, Lorenzo, William, Bolabo, Pepukai, Sita, Sarah, Katelyn, Salome, Ola, Kadin, Stefan, Benjamin, Siem, Zaira, Elena, Tanisha, Maggie, Mia, Max, Dusan, Alan, Samarth and Zeyad.

5 Swimmers won 7 medals in total (3 silvers and 4 bronze); a good return that we hope to build on in future years. 

Combining the 3 galas, BGE placed six out of nine schools. The boy's team was ranked fifth out of nine Schools and the girl's team was ranked seventh out of nine Schools.

Individual results:

In the age group Under 9 boys and girls, 

Khalil attained a silver medal in 100 IM and a bronze medal in 25m fly. Bolabo who attained a silver medal in the 25m front crawl. The rest beat their personal best times in all of their races.

In the age group Under 11 girls and boys,

Pepukai attained a bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke. The rest beat their personal best times in all their races.

In the age group Under 13 boys,

Dusan attained a Silver medal in 50m backstroke. Max attained 2 bronze medals in his 100 IM and 50m front crawl. The rest beat their personal best times in all their races.
