Its Hockey Season!

Hockey season began today (Saturday) with closely fought battles against Braeburn Gitanga Rd. for the U15 boys and Peponi for the U15 girls.
The Boys took an early lead and battled through a resurgence in the 3rd quarter to keep their goal uncorrupted, including an outstanding performance by Giacomo in defence. At the other end of the field, Billy and Jesse prowled around the D in search of converting the midfield efforts. The final whistle confirmed BGE as 2-0 victors.
Meanwhile, the girls played out a war of attrition with both sides refusing to concede a goal and despite the efforts, all and some excellent individual moments. Mary rose was everywhere and Elena started strong in goal. Peponi made some worrying advances but could not quite convert. the tightly contested match ending 0-0 on the score sheet but both teams coming away with a lot learned.
