KSF Kiambu Swimming Gala

The KSF KIambu Invitational Swimming Championships was held from 18th to 19th September. Twenty eight (28) swimming clubs participated at the gala hosted by Regis School Runda.

14 swimmers from BGE represented Braeburn Swimming Club:

Ola, Anika, Zaira, Mariam, Sarah, Manna, Eowyn, Virginia , Angela, Abigail,Tanisha, Robin, Alan and Saffi.

Swimmers won 81 medals in total (38 gold, 25 silver and 18 bronze). They have also achieved a total of 24 Level 2 qualifying times and 96 Level 3 qualifying times. This is a remarkable achievement by swimmers at the first gala of the season.

Overall, Braeburn Swimming Club placed 1st. Both boys and girls teams received 1st place trophies.

Individual results:

  • In the age group 10-11 girls, Ola and Angela broke their personal bests and Sarah placed 13th overall in this age group out of 25 swimmers.
  • In the Girls 12-13 age group, Anika placed 8th with 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medal, Zaira won 1 Gold medal and Virginia placed 13th in this age group with a personal best time. Meanwhile, Tanisha broke her personal best in all of her races.
  • In the age group 12-13 boys, Alan placed 13th in this age group with personal best times in all of his races.
  • In the 14-15 Girls age group, Eowyn placed 4th overall with 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals. Mariam placed 10th, Manna 11th and Abigail 14th overall.
  • In the Boys 14-15 age group, Saffi placed 6th with 1 Gold and 1 Silver medal, and Robin placed 11th with personal best times in his races.
