Nairobi Academy Maths Challenge Winners

28th June 2018

On Friday 8th June, two year 7 and two year 8 boys travelled to Nairobi Academy for their annual Maths Challenge. This is the first year a team from BGE has participated and so we excited to see how we stacked up! The boys took part in a 45 minute individual paper, followed by a 45 minute team challenge. Both sections of the challenge were extremely difficult and I was very proud to see how well the boys worked together.

In the individual challenge the boys placed well, Khaleel Lalji and Dhyanam Shah finished 8th and 9th respectively in Year 8. Matthew Antonio finished an impressive 3rd in Year 7, with Sudipto Islam in 12th.

We tied for first in the team challenge with Hillcrest, leaving a nervous wait for the overall winners. Thanks to their efforts in the individual challenge the BGE team won the overall prize at the first attempt.

The boys were brilliant on the day, representing the school fantastically. We look forward to defending our title next year. Well done boys!
