NCAA Level 1 Age group Swimming Championships - Makini

NCAA Level 1 Age group Swimming Championship was held from 29th to 30th January 2022. Twenty (20) swimming clubs participated at the gala hosted by Makini School.

25 swimmers from BGE represented Braeburn Swimming Club:

Ola, Anika , Khalil, Zaira, Mariam, Sarah, Manna, Eowyn, Angela, Tanisha, Hana, Zara , Robin, Katelyn, Kadin, Maynuel, Dusam,Tanisha,  Meggie, Zaira, Paulina, Pepukai,Zeyad, Max  and Samarth.

Swimmers won 92 medals in total (32 gold, 28 silver and 32 bronze). They have also achieved Level 2 qualifying times and  Level 3 qualifying times. This is a remarkable achievement by swimmers at the first gala of this season. 

Overall, Braeburn Swimming Club placed 1st. Both boys and girls teams received 1st place trophies. 

Individual results:

In the age group 8 -9 girls, 

Pepukai attained 3 golds in 50mbk, 50mbf, 100mbk and 3 silvers in 50mbr,100br with level 3 time and 50mfr with L2 times. Zara got in 10th in 50mfr with L2 time, 6th in 50mbr with L2 times besides personal best in the rest of her races she swam.

Paulina got in 6th in 50m fr with L2 times besides personal best in the rest of her races. 

In the age group 8 -9 Boys,

Kadin attained 2silvers in 50mfr L2 time,100mfr L3 time, 1bronze in 100mbk L2 time and got 4th in 100mIM L3 time, besides personal best in other strokes he swam. Khalil got a bronze in 50mbk with L3 time and got 6th in 100br with L2 times besides personal best in the rest of his events. Stefan gave us personal best in all his races.

In the age group 10-11 girls, 

Sarah,Ola, Katelyn and Angela attained personal best in all their events.

In the Girls 12-13 age group 

Anika attained a gold in 200mbr L3 time, 2 bronze in 200mfr L3 time, 50mbr L2 times,5th in 50mbk with L2 times, besides obtaining meet record times and personal best. Zaira attained bronze in 100br L2 time besides personal best in her other races. Meggie attained a silver in 100mbr L3 time, got 2nd 200br meet record,6th in 50mbr with L2 times and Tanisha attained personal best times in all her races.

In the Boys 12-13 age group

Max attained a gold in 200br L2 time, 4 silvers in 50mfr L2, 100mbr L3, 50mbf L2, 50mbk L3 time, 2 bronze in 100mbk L2 , 100mfr L2and personal best in his other races. Dusan attained a silver in 50mbr L2 and a bronze in 50mbk L3 besides having his personal best in his other races. Samarth and Zeyad attained personal best in all their events.

In the Girls 14-15 age group

Manna attained a gold in 200mbr L2 time. Eowyn got 2 golds in 200mbk L2, 200mfr L2, 2nd in 20mbf and 3rd in 200mbr  meet record

In the Boys 14-15 age group

Robin attained a bronze in 50mfr L2 time besides personal best in the rest of his races. Maynuel was 4th in 100 IM  besides personal best in the rest of his races.

In the girls 16 & over age group

Hana attained 3 golds in 100mbk L2, 100mbf L2 time,100 IM meet record, 2Silver in 100mbk L2 and 100mfr meet record. Mariam  attained a silver in 100bk L2 and a 3rd 100mfr meet record.
