U15A Netballers bow out in the semis

19th June 2017

For the U15A Netball team, it was a season that started off with promise and developed into a season that saw expectations and  grow. They maintained an unbeaten run in the season topping their pool games with 4 successive wins. However, this streak ended in crushing disappointment in the semi-final versus Aga Khan.

Dominant starters to the game, BGE played an exceptionally controlled game of Netball, ensuring they had a lead throughout. With Aga Khan trailing by 5 goals going into the 4th quarter, BGE looked the likely winners.  However, Aga Khan had different ideas. A change in tactical play paired with a distinct increase in tempo meant the our girls were on the back foot for the first time in the game. Conceding 6 goals to 1 in the final quarter BGE finished with a deficit of 1 goal. A well fought semi-final from the girls and a few creases were identified which will be ironed out before playing their final tournament of the season this weekend in Turi.
