Visual arts and CAS combine to transform the Cottolengo Orphanage dining room

20th June 2022

On Tuesday 14th June, IB visual arts students, Mrs Arundel and a group of CAS students, embarked on a journey to Cottolengo Orphanage in Karen to paint murals in their dining room.

CAS students organised a 'Living art exhibition' and a bake sale to raise funds for materials, and the murals themselves showed the journey that Joseph Cottolengo (the founder) undertook in his mission from Piedmont to Africa.

All children at the orphanage are HIV positive, so it was lovely for the children to meet the youngest children housed there before they left to return to school.
