In English this week, we have been learning how to describe settings in stories. We talked about using adjectives, specific nouns, powerful verbs, similes, metaphors and personification to bring settings to life and create vivid images in the reader's mind. Our setting descriptions were based on Beverly Naidoo’s Journey to Jo’burg which we have been reading in our English and guided reading lessons.
