IB orientation

21st September 2022

Year 12 BGE students participated in a one day IB orientation day, designed to help them understand the demands of the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Careers-Related programmes.

Through a series of interactive sessions, students learnt some important points about the IB, such as the Mission Statement, Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning. They were introduced to our IB platform for learning, Managebac.

Understanding the core of IB was another key aim of the day, and so students were introduced to the Extended Essay, the Reflective Project, Theory of Knowledge and Ethics.

Parents joined in the afternoon for guidance on the university application process; a presentation on 'What is an IB Education?' and a Question and Answer session with special guests, Mr Alex Manning, Braeburn Schools Careers and University Applications Advisor, and Dr Benson Kairu, Development and Recognition Manager, IB Africa.

We wish all our IB students a successful, enriching and enjoyable time at BGE.
