Prefect team building trip to Hells Gate

The year 13 prefects strode confidently off the bus at Hell's Gate and embarked on a team building trip last Friday. The trip afforded this group of senior students the opportunity to work together and under circumstances that most would consider out of their comfort zone.  feel that they are more confident in how they can work together, going forward into their final year at school.

They undertook a sequence of tasks under the scrutiny of Mr. Valentine and Ms. Bayerl, including having to navigate from point A to point B while considering terrain, and pace and estimating the time of arrival for their trek. Upon reaching the campsite it promptly rained while the tents were hastily erected before tackling dinner. This included making bread on sticks over a fire (with varying degrees of success) and also constructing an edible meal from a limited list of ingredients. Spirits were kept high when the marshmallows appeared and the next morning the teamwork and energy were evident as the tents came down and the team hiked back to the gate to return home; a little bit dustier but much more prepared
