Year 4 Science

16th March 2023

This week in Science, we have been learning about insulators and conductors. Conductors allow the electric current to flow, but insulators block the current from passing through. We planned a fair test, predicted and carried out the experiment to check our predictions. We found out that materials such as copper, silver, graphite, aluminium, and steel are good conductors and that foam, fabric, wool, rubber, wood, plastic, and paper are insulating materials. As part of our new learning on electrical safety, we now know that water and wet wood are bad insulators.
